SAP Security Administrator
is a specialized IT professional dedicated to protecting a

company's SAP systems from unauthorized access, misuse, and cyber threats. This vital role

ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive business data.Role Overview

As a key member of the IT team, the SAP Security Administrator is responsible for the security,

stability, and performance of the company's SAP environments. This includes managing user

access, designing and maintaining security roles, and implementing controls to meet both

internal and external audit requirements.

Core Responsibilities

User and Access Management:

  • Modify, Change, Add and Delete (MACD) user accounts across various SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA, Fiori).
  • Administer user access, passwords, and permissions.
  • Resolve user access and authorization issues.
  • Conduct regular user access reviews and deprovisioning.

Role and Authorization Design:

  • Develop, define, and maintain security roles and profiles based on job functions and business needs.
  • Enforce Segregation of Duties (SoD) to prevent conflicts of interest and fraudulent activities.
  • Translate functional business requirements into technical security designs.
  • Perform security checks and maintain a comprehensive role/plant/position matrix.

Security & Compliance:

  • Formulate and implement security policies and procedures aligned with company policies and industry standards.
  • Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Utilize and manage SAP GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) modules for risk analysis, access control, and audit trails.

System and Technical Support:

  • Monitor and secure multiple SAP environments.
  • Provide security-focused support for system upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to resolve security-related issues.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to end-users and project teams.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Generate access review documents and reports for internal and external audits.
  • Create and manage SAP security transports.
