Primary Responsibilities:Provides support and assistance to the academic and administrative work and initiatives initiated by the Head of Academic Affairs;Provides strategic vision, leadership and overall administration in the attainment of the goals and expected learning outcomes of the programs in the School of Computing;Translates the mission, vision and long-term strategy of the school into student-centered initiatives, research-led endeavors, and business development opportunities that achieve sustainable growth and success for the institution;Builds and maintains an innovative high quality academic portfolio that aligns with the school's strategic plan, is responsive to the needs of students and is where appropriate industry relevant that embrace the use of new technologies, ensuring the portfolio is responsive to external drivers and is financially viable;Drives the improvement of service delivery and support through the innovative use of learning and information technologies, while maintaining quality and academic standards;Develops the school's academic reputation, provides excellent learning experiences to the students, and cultivates a culture of innovation and collaboration among faculty and support staff for professional development;Provides academic and administrative leadership and support in curriculum development, faculty development, performance management, and institutional and departmental improvements;Initiates projects that will help student recruitment, improve student retention and invite professionals to engage with iACADEMY;Endorses qualified faculty members to teach in the program, on the recommendation of the Program Chairperson;Adopts curricular programs attuned to current trends and developments in education and to practices of the profession;Exercises academic leadership and integrity;Supervises and evaluates the performance of the program heads;Maintains linkages with relevant industry and academic entities or organizations;Promotes research and scholarly pursuits;Oversees the overall operation of the School of Computing;Together with the program heads, conducts regular academic advising to students and provides appropriate recommendation/s when necessary;Fulfills all other functions as may be explicitly required by the institution;Reports directly to the school's Head of Academic Affairs. Qualifications:A Doctoral Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a doctoral degree in a related field and a Master's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology;with at least five (5) years teaching experience at the tertiary level;with at least five (5) years administrative experience or supervisory capacity in an educational institution, relevant industry, or a business enterprise;Excellent leadership, motivational and people management skills with a track record of building high performing teams;Demonstrated effectiveness in developing and managing relationships with a wide range of external partners including professional bodies, government, business and other education providers or organizations;Able to operate within a complex, structured yet challenging environment and motivate highly skilled and qualified individuals;Outstanding vision, with the ability to translate this into tangible strategy; able to take tough decisions and can demonstrate the resilience necessary to overcome setbacks;Academic and moral integrity;Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people in a team-oriented environment;Highly organized, flexible and proactive.
