About the opportunity

We're hiring two hardworking, reliable people to join us at Kryal Castle in Ballarat, VIC. This is ideal for a couple relocating from the Philippines on an Australian employer-sponsored visa. We especially welcome pairs where one is an electrician or carpenter, and the other has strong hospitality experience as a chef or front-of-house manager. Immediate start available.

Role 1: Maintenance Technician (carpentry and/or electrical)

Job summary

Keep our attractions, venues and back-of-house areas safe, functional and guest-ready, with a focus on carpentry and electrical tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and reactive repairs across electrical fixtures, minor wiring, lighting, and small plant where licensed and safe to do so
• Deliver carpentry works including furniture, doors, partitions, sets and activations
• Troubleshoot faults in attractions and equipment, escalate when specialised trades are required
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate service logs
• Work safely to Australian standards and site procedures, support contractor inductions

Qualifications and attributes

• Trade skills in carpentry and/or electrical; NC II or equivalent is a plus; Australian licence or willingness to obtain local recognition highly regarded
• Competent with hand/power tools, basic circuits, lock-out/tag-out and WHS practices
• Practical problem solver who can work independently and in a small team
• Prior maintenance or facilities experience preferred

Role 2: General Operations (kitchen, front-of-house or office administration)

Job summary

Support daily operations in hospitality and administration to keep service smooth, organised and guest focused.

Choose your stream

• Kitchen: preparation, station support, food safety compliance, stock rotation
• Front-of-house: guest service, reservations, events support, cash handling, floor supervision
• Office administration: rostering support, invoices, purchasing, basic reporting, supplier and booking coordination

Qualifications and attributes

• Experience in a hotel, restaurant or events setting (chef or FOH manager experience strongly preferred) or in office admin for hospitality
• Highly organised, accurate and proactive with clear communication
• Comfortable working to checklists, SOPs and service standards
• Able to work independently and support teammates during peak periods
• A diploma/degree is advantageous but not essential
