Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and decorate cakes according to customer orders, using a variety of techniques such as piping, fondant work, and airbrushing.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their design preferences and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Keep up to date with current trends in cake design and bring new ideas to the team.
  • Assist with the production of other baked goods as needed, including cupcakes, cookies, and pastries.
  • Manage inventory of decorating supplies and report any shortages to management.
  • Work closely with the baking team to ensure timely completion of all orders.
  • Meet deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or pastry arts education is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Cake Decorator or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in various cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and airbrushing.
  • Strong attention to detail and artistic ability.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as large cakes or boxes of supplies.
