The Technical Engineer for Formwork and Scaffolding is responsible for providing technical support, design preparation, site coordination, and implementation guidance related to temporary works such as formwork systems, shoring, and scaffolding. The role ensures safe, cost-efficient, and structurally sound solutions in compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Design & Planning
  • Develop detailed formwork and scaffolding layouts, shop drawings, and structural calculations according to project requirements.
  • Prepare design proposals, material take-offs, and system configurations for various construction stages.
  • Review and validate temporary works designs to ensure structural stability and safety
  • Optimize material usage to reduce project costs without compromising safety and quality.
2. Project Execution & Coordination
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and clients to clarify technical requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance during installation, modification, and dismantling of formwork and scaffolding systems.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design, installation procedures, and safety standards.
  • Resolve technical issues encountered on-site and recommend corrective actions.
3. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all designs comply with local and international standards
  • Perform structural checks and load capacity verifications for existing scaffolding and temporary structures.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety audits, and risk assessments related to temporary works.
4. Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare engineering reports, method statements, risk assessments, and installation guidelines.
  • Maintain updated records of design revisions, approvals, and as-built documentation.
  • Support tendering and bidding activities by providing technical inputs and cost estimates.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Licensed Engineer
Experience
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in formwork and scaffolding engineering, construction, or temporary works design.
  • Strong background in formwork systems is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in construction projects such as high-rise buildings, industrial plants, infrastructure, or heavy civil works.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar structural analysis software.
  • Knowledge of load calculations, shoring analysis, structural stability, and material specifications.
  • Familiarity with formwork and scaffolding components, erection methods, and safety requirements
