BASIC FUNCTIONS

Under general supervision, the pharmacist fills and dispenses drugs and medical supplies to in-patient and out-patients ordered or prescribed by a licensed physician or dentist.

Education : Graduate of four (4) years courser in Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy

Experience : At least one (1) year of experience in hospital pharmacy setting preferably

Training : Preferably with FDA Licensing Seminar on A.O. 34 for Drugstore and Outlets, Customer Service Training

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fills prescriptions and dispenses drugs in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Counsels client/patient on the safe and judicious use of medicines and other health products
  • Ensures that sufficient stock levels of medicine and supplies in the pharmacy are maintained.
  • Maintains the systematic arrangement of medicines and labeling of shelves. Ensures adherence to the recommended storage for medicines.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions of drug items and other supplies for procurement with the supervision of the Pharmacy Section Head.
  • Performs extemporaneous compounding.
  • Performs routine physical count and expiry monitoring of all inventory in the Pharmacy and Emergency carts in General Nursing Section.
  • Monitors E-Cart use and ensures the replenishment of medicines and supplies used.
  • Dispenses Dangerous and Regulated Drugs and documents their utilization.
  • Assists the Clinical Pharmacist in Antimicrobial Stewardship.
  • Assists the Pharmacy Section Head in the compliance of regulatory matters.
  • Attends training programs and learning sessions for the enhancement of professional, technical, and personal proficiencies.
