Company Overview: We are a dynamic and growing company specializing in selling branded apparel on Amazon. With a diverse product line featuring 40 base products and nearly 2000 variation choices, we are committed to delivering top-quality apparel to our customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team and help us forecast future trends, optimize operations, and drive strategic decisions.

Job Summary: As a Data Scientist, you will handle all aspects of data analysis and scientific modeling. Your primary focus will be on forecasting business performance over 1, 3, and 5-year horizons, considering both internal trends and external global factors such as economic indicators and potential disruptions. You will develop advanced predictive models, analyze complex datasets, and provide actionable insights to support our strategic planning and operational efficiency. Full time, 160 hours per month, paid weekly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Predictive Modeling and Forecasting: Develop and implement advanced machine learning models to forecast sales, profitability, and inventory needs for 1, 3, and 5-year periods.
• Data Analysis: Analyze internal data from Amazon API and QuickBooks, as well as external data on global economic trends, market conditions, and consumer behavior.
• Trend Analysis: Identify and interpret key trends and patterns in sales, seasonality, and customer preferences.
• Algorithm Development: Create and refine algorithms to optimize pricing strategies, inventory management, and marketing campaigns.
• Dashboard Creation: Develop and maintain custom dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio to visualize predictive models and key metrics.
• Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports and present findings to stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making.
• Risk Analysis: Assess potential risks to production and supply chain, such as fabric shortages, natural disasters, and other disruptions, and incorporate these factors into forecasting models.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and operations to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve data collection processes, analytical methods, and forecasting accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in an e-commerce or Amazon-focused company.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models for forecasting and predictive analysis.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in data analysis and machine learning tools such as Python, R, SQL, and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Apparel Industry: Previous experience working with branded apparel products is a plus.
• Amazon Expertise: In-depth understanding of Amazon's marketplace, seller tools, and reporting capabilities.
• Global Trend Analysis: Experience in analyzing global economic trends and their impact on business performance.
• Risk Management: Knowledge of assessing and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, such as fabric shortages, natural disasters, and geopolitical events.
