Senior Field Service Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of power and thermal systems aligned with company service offerings. This role focuses on mission-critical equipment such as UPS systems, rectifiers, PACUs (Precision Air Conditioning Units), and other physical DC infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and compliance with industry and manufacturer standards. The Senior FSE also serves as a technical lead on-site, providing guidance to junior engineers and supporting service excellence for clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Field Operations

· Perform installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance of:

o Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems

o Rectifier and DC power systems

o Precision Air Conditioning Units (PACU) and thermal management systems

o Generator sets (gensets) and associated auxiliaries

· Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with OEM guidelines, service contracts, and Prasinio standard procedures.

· Diagnose complex electrical, power quality, and thermal issues; provide root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.

· Ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Preventive Maintenance & Reliability

· Develop and implement preventive maintenance checklists and schedules for supported equipment.

· Conduct detailed inspections, measurements, functional testing, and performance verification.

· Identify potential risks, aging components, and system weaknesses; recommend improvements or upgrades.

· Prepare service reports, maintenance logs, and recommendations for clients.

Customer & Service Support

· Act as the primary technical point of contact during on-site service activities.

· Provide professional technical explanations, recommendations, and service updates to clients.

· Support emergency call-outs and critical service restoration activities when required.

· Ensure high customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and clear communication.

Leadership & Mentoring

· Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to junior Field Service Engineers and technicians.

· Lead complex service activities and coordinate with team members during major maintenance or troubleshooting tasks.

· Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.

Documentation & Compliance

· Prepare accurate service reports, test results, and preventive maintenance documentation.

· Ensure proper use and care of tools, test instruments, and service equipment.

· Comply with company policies, safety standards, and quality management systems.

Coordination & Continuous Improvement

· Coordinate with internal teams such as Project Engineering, Sales, and Management for technical support and service planning.

· Provide technical feedback on recurring issues, product performance, and service improvements.

· Stay updated on new technologies, OEM updates, and industry best practices related to power and thermal systems.

Qualifications & RequirementsEducation

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent technical background.

Experience

· Minimum 5–7 years of relevant field service experience in mission-critical power and thermal systems.

· Proven hands-on experience with UPS, rectifiers, PACUs, and other DC infrastructure equipment.

· Strong background in preventive and corrective maintenance of critical infrastructure equipment.

Technical Skills

· Solid understanding of electrical systems, power quality, DC systems, and thermal management.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.

· Proficient in the use of electrical test instruments and diagnostic tools.

Soft Skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Good communication and customer-handling skills.

· Ability to work independently and under pressure in critical environments.

· Leadership and mentoring capability.

Other Requirements

· Willingness to travel and perform on-site field work.

· Flexible to work during weekends, holidays, or emergency call-outs as required.

· Valid driver's license is an advantage.
