Medical Coding Trainer

Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate medical coding training for new hires and tenured coders
  • Conduct refresher sessions, coaching, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. healthcare coding guidelines, compliance standards, and payer requirements
  • Perform quality audits, documentation reviews, and provide actionable feedback
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to address knowledge gaps and improve coding accuracy
  • Maintain training materials aligned with current coding updates and regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, Health Information Management, or related healthcare field (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Training, Quality, or Process Improvement within a U.S. Healthcare BPO or healthcare setting
  • Strong background in facilitating training programs and conducting quality audits
  • In-depth knowledge of medical coding standards, compliance, and payer documentation requirements
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and healthcare audit tools

Preferred Certifications

  • AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent certifications (CPC, CCS, CCA, etc.)
