CLIENT BACKGROUND

The client is a U.S.-based accounting and advisory firm founded in 2024. The firm has quickly grown to support around 25+ small to mid-sized business clients, including home service providers, general contractors, real estate investors, marketing agencies, and inspection/environmental companies.

Client relationships are at the heart of the firm's growth. The founder has built a reputation for being highly attentive, responsive, and dedicated — often picking up calls from clients directly and providing thoughtful support. As the client base expands, the firm is now ready to hire a Senior Bookkeeper who can take over core day-to-day accounting work, drive operational efficiency, and eventually grow into a leadership role within the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform weekly/daily categorization of transactions using QBO and bank rules
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries and tie out financials
  • Maintain and manage fixed asset schedules and loan balances
  • Finalize monthly financial reports using QuickBooks Online
  • Handle after-the-fact bookkeeping — no bill pay
  • Support 1099 preparation and occasional sales tax filing (mostly in Tennessee)
  • Suggest and implement process improvements and automation (e.g., Double, Zapier, etc.)
  • Gradually take on client-facing communication (via Double)
  • Help onboard future team members as the firm grows
  • Work collaboratively with existing bookkeeper to ensure consistent quality across all client accounts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of U.S. bookkeeping experience in a US based accounting firm managing multiple clients, with proven track record of managing 10+ clients simultaneously
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and solid Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Experience with Double is a plus
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and produce clean, tied-out books
  • Strong attention to detail and a high sense of accountability
  • A stable internet connection and quiet workspace
