About the Role
This role bridges Cyber Incident Response and Security Engineering, helping to detect, respond to, and prevent threats in a complex, high-volume retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Incident Response
- Monitor and respond to security incidents across global infrastructure, including retail, supply chain, and cloud environments.
- Conduct forensic investigations and root cause analysis using enterprise-grade tools.
- Collaborate with U.S.-based SOC and IR teams to ensure seamless incident handling and escalation.
- Maintain and improve incident response playbooks tailored to retail-specific threats (e.g., POS malware, ransomware, insider threats).
Security Engineering
- Design and implement scalable security controls across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
- Support deployment and tuning of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in global security architecture reviews and contribute to threat modeling exercises.
- Implement and manage SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) and ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access) solutions to support secure remote access and cloud-first strategies.
- Lead or support the development of an API Security program, including discovery, classification, threat modeling, and protection of APIs across internal and external-facing services.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred certifications:
CompTIA Security+, CEH, GCIH, GCFA, CISSP
- ISACA certifications such as CISM, CRISC, or CISA
- Cloud Security certifications such as CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Security Engineer
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in cybersecurity, ideally within a GCC or multinational environment.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade security tools and platforms.
- Experience implementing or managing SASE, ZTNA, and API Security programs.
- Familiarity with retail threat vectors and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOX).
Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with proven stakeholder management capabilities across local and global teams.
- Ability to collaborate across time zones and navigate matrixed reporting structures.
- Knowledge of Philippine data privacy laws and global compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience working in ITIL or Agile environments is a plus.
