Responsible for performing occupational health care activities including health-related training, and education on applying basic understanding of best practices and standards on Health management systems, employee health services and compliance. Monitor and keep records of medical/health history of employees in order to come up with health programs. Promote and maintain to the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers to keep them healthy and safe at work.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of BS Nursing
- Must be a Registered Nurse
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- Preferably have at least 6 months of relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
- With actual experience of applying first-aid and BLS.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
- Knowledgeable in planning and doing analysis.
- Knowledgeable in documentation, reporting, and conduct of training.
- Knowledgeable in doing research.
- Preferably with OHNAP and other related training.
- Preferably with knowledge in doing graphics.
Principal Accountabilities
HEALTH, SAFETY TRAINING & EDUCATION
- Utilizing technical knowledge and training to assist in the design and execution of health and safety programs.
- Prepare a strategy/plan to promote occupational health and safety.
- Conduct healthcare risk assessment.
- Provide ergonomics training.
- Educates and advises employees on pertinent health issues.
- Makes recommendations on improving the manner of providing health-related service to employees.
- Receive necessary training relevant to discharge of duties and responsibilities.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND SAFETY SERVICES
- Prepare policy/guideline on occupational/environmental health management systems.
- Assess workplace to identify and mitigate potential hazards that may lead to exposure to health/environment risks.
- Conduct healthcare screening, medical surveillance and return to work programs.
- Conduct prevention, investigation, and treatment of workplace-related illnesses and injuries.
- Report works restrictions.
- Develop tools (ex. Checklist, forms, etc.) to implement occupational/environmental health management programs and monitor performance.
- Support a variety of Health and Safety audit, inspection and risk assessment process. Use basic understanding of Health and Safety practices and standards, assist in reviewing and analyzing audit results requiring little interpretation, to confirm that the corporate, business and government Health and Safety standards are met.
MEDICAL SERVICES
- Treats, assesses employee's illness or injury and determines medical direction to ensure quality medical care. Administer first aid treatments and provide medications for employees as needed.
- Assists all injured employees to the nearest clinic/hospital.
- Organize cases and coordinate for referral to medical institutions.
- Coordinate and liaise with concerned government agencies (i.e. DOH, DOLE etc.,). Assist in the preparation of reports for compliance.
- Keep documentation of all medical related documents.
- Provides services to control and dispense non-prescription medications. Prepare and submit reports to superior pertaining to medical records of employees and medicine consumption.
ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
- Provide statistics and prepare reports on occupational health performance indicators. Maintain an updated report as required by OSHA.
- Conduct inventory of medicines and order as needed.
- Documentation and filing.
- Monitor the section's expense reports and making sure all items are within the allocated budget.
