What is the job?

The Senior Accountant 1 reports to the Controller and ensures data integrity for accurate financial reporting. This role is responsible for general ledger and financial reporting integrity, account reconciliations, assisting with regulatory compliance, ad hoc reporting and analysis. The G/L Accountant will work closely with the other members of the Accounting team and all other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, manage month-end closing, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.

  • Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring G/L accuracy.

  • Support payroll, indirect tax, overhead accounting, and Capex tracking for proper allocation and compliance.

  • Assist in external audits by preparing documentation and meeting audit requirements.

  • Review T&E filings and provide backup support to AP/AR functions as needed.

  • Identify and implement accounting process improvements; handle ad-hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications:


• Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting.

• Proficient use of Excel, Word, Outlook and QuickBooks Enterprise or similar accounting software.

• Minimum of 4 years accounting experience, agriculture, manufacturing or consumer products experience is a plus.
