Job Description:

  1. The Senior Technician, specializing in repairs, is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various products within the organization. This position requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a focus on delivering high-quality repair services to ensure the efficient functioning of equipment and minimize downtime.
  2. Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of faulty equipment or systems to identify issues and determine the root causes of malfunctions.
  3. Perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments on defective components, parts, or systems using appropriate tools, techniques, and procedures.
  4. Utilize troubleshooting skills to systematically identify and resolve technical problems, ensuring that repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
  5. Maintain high standards of quality in repair work, ensuring that all repairs meet specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Keep detailed records of repair activities, including diagnoses, repairs performed, parts used, and any relevant observations or recommendations.
  7. Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs. Ensure availability of required parts and materials to minimize delays in repair processes.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders or external clients by responding promptly to repair requests, communicating effectively about repair status and timelines, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  9. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, sharing knowledge, skills, and best practices to enhance team capabilities and performance.
  10. Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction in repair operations. Propose and implement initiatives to streamline repair processes and improve overall effectiveness.
  11. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing repairs, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others. Promote a culture of safety within the team.

Qualifications:

  • College or vocational or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical repair and maintenance, with a focus on diagnosing and repairing equipment or systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, depending on the nature of the equipment being repaired.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair instruments. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the nature of repair tasks. Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to repair work.
