Job Summary

Responsible for the effective planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of construction and engineering projects. This role ensures that all work is carried out safely, within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with design specifications and quality standards. The Project In-Charge serves as the key coordinator between clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Coordination

  • Review project scope, drawings, and specifications to understand requirements and deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed project execution plans, including schedules, manpower allocation, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and suppliers for technical and material requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, cost estimates, and procurement plans.

2. Site Management

  • Supervise and monitor on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications.
  • Ensure that work is executed safely and complies with quality and environmental standards.
  • Manage daily site operations, manpower distribution, and subcontractor activities.
  • Identify potential issues or risks on-site and implement corrective measures.

3. Quality Assurance & Safety

  • Enforce compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, local building codes).
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
  • Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with QA/QC teams and consultants.

4. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project progress against schedules and milestones.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to management and clients.
  • Attend coordination meetings and provide updates on timelines, resource needs, and challenges.

5. Communication & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, change orders, and correspondences.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Facilitate clear communication between site staff, clients, and management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards.
  • Proficiency in project management and planning software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and subcontractors effectively.
