Job description:

The Merchandiser is responsible for managing product availability, monitoring and analyzing stock levels, and coordinating purchasing activities to ensure timely replenishment and efficient inventory management. The role plays a key part in maintaining optimal stock levels, supporting sales objectives, and ensuring smooth product flow across all stores or sales channels.

Product and Stock Management

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels to meet sales and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and store teams to ensure timely replenishment and product transfers.
  • Track stock movement, identify fast- and slow-moving items, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Ensure product accuracy in inventory records and systems.

Stock Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze inventory data and sales performance to support forecasting and purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on stock status, movement, and turnover.
  • Identify trends and make data-based recommendations to optimize inventory levels.

Purchasing and Coordination

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for order placement, delivery schedules, and stock replenishment.
  • Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders based on approved forecasts and requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, pricing, and lead times to ensure cost efficiency and product availability.
  • Support negotiations for favorable terms and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.
