Introduction to Impactt

Project background

Impactt is commissioned throughout the year to conduct human rights assessments in across Asia by predominantly oil and gas companies. The purpose of the assessments is to help companies to gain an understanding of the labour rights risks experienced by its workforce and assess the effectiveness of management systems in mitigating these risks.

We are organising an assessment in Japan and are looking for a Filipino/Tagalog-speaking interviewer to conduct interviews with contracted Filipino workers. The assessment will take place during the week commencing 8 December, over a period of 2–3 days.

The assessment is expected to be conducted remotely. Candidates currently residing in Japan who can support in-person interviews will be given preference where feasible.

Impactt is looking for a worker interviewer who can complete the following tasks:

• Attend briefing calls with the Impactt team.
  
• Conduct worker interviews of contracted workers in Filipino/ Tagalog language.
• Attend debrief sessions with the Lead Assessor throughout the assessment.
  
• Support with logistical arrangements for the interviews, where required.
  
• Reporting findings from interviews in a pre-designed template.
  

Timeline

Impactt have an assessment that is due to be delivered in week commencing 8th of December. We expect that the worker interviewer activities will take place over the course of three (2-3) days.

Impactt may be in touch with the candidate regarding additional projects in the future depending on demand.

Preparation - up to 6 hours

Worker interviewer activities - Between hours across 2 days

Reporting - Up to 4 hours

General Experience 

·       Minimum of 2-4 years' experience delivering individual or group interviews (preferably working with vulnerable groups of people) 

·       Good understanding of national labour law 

·       Exposure to international labour law 

·       Experience in social compliance auditing or labour rights assessments/investigations. 

Specific Experience 

·       A good understanding of labour rights risks faced by subcontracted workers in international supply chains.  

Language 

·       Good written and spoken English. 

·       Fluency in Filipino/Tagalog language.

You will have the freedom to work on projects that interest you and receive a contract form for each project you support on.
