Role Overview

The Security Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security strategies to safeguard the thermal power plant's personnel, assets, and operations. This role ensures compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards while fostering a secure and resilient workplace environment.


Key Responsibilities
1. Security Operations
  • Develop and implement the overall security program for the thermal power plant, including physical security, surveillance, and access control.
  • Manage and supervise contracted or in-house security personnel, ensuring 24/7 coverage and readiness.
  • Monitor plant perimeter, facilities, and critical equipment to prevent theft, sabotage, or unauthorized access.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency response units.
  • Ensure proper functioning of CCTV systems, alarms, communication devices, and other security technologies.
2. Risk Management & Compliance
  • Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) requirements, and occupational safety standards.
  • Develop contingency and emergency response plans (e.g., natural disasters, civil disturbances, or security breaches).
  • Maintain security documentation, incident reports, and compliance records.
3. Crisis & Incident Management
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, theft, vandalism, or policy violations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Oversee evacuation drills, emergency response exercises, and staff awareness training.
  • Act as the primary liaison for crisis response and business continuity related to security threats.
4. Leadership & Training
  • Train and orient security personnel and employees on security protocols, access control, and emergency procedures.
  • Promote a culture of vigilance, discipline, and safety within the workforce.
  • Mentor and evaluate the performance of the security team, ensuring alignment with company policies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Security Management, Public Safety, or a related field.
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in security management, preferably in power generation, energy, manufacturing, or industrial facilities.
  • Strong background in physical security, crisis management, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of Philippine labor laws, DOE guidelines, and safety/security regulations.
  • Familiarity with modern security systems (CCTV, biometrics, access control, alarms).
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and crisis-handling skills.
  • Must be amenable to work onsite at the power plant.
