Job description:

ROLE PURPOSE:

Provides engineering support to projects from concept design to detailed design either by directly carrying out the engineering activities (from concept to basic design) or by monitoring and approving the activities carried out by third parties (pertaining to him/her) that will address the business unit's requirement and deliverables.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Conceptualizes designs across project phases, including gathering information, calculations, preparation of drawings and technical specifications, and writing of technical reports as far as the discipline is concerned.
  • Reviews/evaluates technical reports submitted (according to the engineer's discipline)
  • Reviews and evaluates project designs as against project objectives as well as the overall performance/status of a project
  • Prepares bid documents, drawings and BOQ from Project Discipline Engineers
  • Collaborates with the Project Team in the definition of Design ToRs in packaging, and in the integration of the winning bidders' results with designs
  • Reviews and comments on the project plans, schedules and cost estimates based on his/her process engineering knowledge, and assists in evaluating change orders
  • Prepares options and design elements that can be carried out in the implementation of a project.
  • Updates unit cost per actual material and local labor cost
  • Establishes Technical Bid Evaluation, as supported by the Project Proponents
  • Provides extended support during:
  • 1.) Project procurement with the technical evaluation and cost review of the proposal, and
  • 2.) Project execution with the review of proposed design from Contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering design and support services in an infrastructure and engineering environment – water/wastewater and network is an advantage
  • Licensed Chemical Engineer (Professional Engineer is an advantage)
  • Experience in Process Design Engineering
  • Evidence of continued professional development
