Yacht Chief Engineer

The Position

The position will be based on our liveaboard, ATLANTIS INFINITI LIVEABOARD.

The Engineer is responsible to provide professional and customer focused service to our guests, ensuring that their stay will become a memorable experience and your role will include key responsibilities such as:

• Maintaining all liveaboard machinery in good working condition with recommendations to the HoE for appropriate spares and redundancy to avoid disruptions to operations in any way.
• Assists in the proper implementation of SMS particularly in the engine department.
• Adheres to the Company's policies and instructions.
• Follow accordingly the Standing Order of Head Engineer/Officer.
• Keeps the Master and/or Boat Manager and the Company fully informed on all matters that affect the interest of the same.
• Safety of all engine personnel.
• Ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Advises the Head Engineer or Master and/or Boat Manager of machinery and *boat equipment failure and the implications regarding seaworthiness, delays and other matters, including concerns regarding departmental issues.
• Implements and help improve Ship Maintenance Plan.

Education

• College degree preferably BS Marine Engineering

Experience

• Ten (10) years sea experience
• Four(4) years as Engineer
• With experience/qualifications with Cummins Engines, John Deere Generator Sets, Water pumps, water makers and air-conditioning units
• Bauer Compressor and Kaeser Membrane maintenance experience or certifications
• Diving / Hospitality industry experience (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Adequate working knowledge in main engines, generators, pumps, AC, compressors, outboards
• Good general mechanical and engineering knowledge
• Exemplary safety record
• Excellent guest care skills
• Good spoken and written Tagalog and English
• Should be very flexible and physically able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule
• Comfortable living and working in close quarters with other crew members.

License and Certifications

• Marine Diesel Mechanic 2 License
• Up-to-date Domestic Certificate of Competency (DCOC - Passenger Vessel) and Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW)
• Engineering Watch Certificate
• Crowd & Crisis Management
• Valid Seafarer's Identification and Record Book (SIRB)
• Basic Medical First Aid and Fire Fighting Certificate
• Basic Training Certificate
• International Safety Management (ISM) Certificate
