General Manager – Outpost Hostels El Nido & Coron
Full-Time | On-Site in Palawan
About the Role
Outpost Hostels is looking for a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to lead our island operations across El Nido and Coron. This role is for someone who thrives in the field — not behind a desk — and can bring order, energy, and leadership to two of the most exciting travel destinations in the Philippines.
You'll oversee daily hostel operations, lead and develop staff, ensure seamless guest experiences, and maintain the Outpost vibe — a mix of adventure, community, and hospitality excellence. This position requires a proactive problem-solver who can balance structure with the free-spirited culture that defines Outpost.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee all aspects of hostel operations in both El Nido and Coron
- Maintain property standards for cleanliness, readiness, and guest comfort
- Manage supplies, equipment, and facility upkeep with caretakers and logistics staff
- Coordinate maintenance and ensure timely repairs of infrastructure and amenities
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and motivate staff across front desk, bar, kitchen, and housekeeping teams
- Set clear expectations and maintain discipline and accountability
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure alignment with Outpost service standards
- Build a strong, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
Guest Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guest concerns and escalations
- Uphold Outpost's signature energy, hospitality, and social atmosphere
- Monitor guest satisfaction and implement feedback-driven improvements
- Ensure safety, security, and professionalism across all guest interactions
Logistics & Administration
- Oversee purchasing, inventory control, and cost management
- Manage schedules, payroll coordination, and operational reporting
- Collaborate with HQ on marketing initiatives, performance metrics, and policy updates
Qualifications
- 3–5 years in a management or supervisory role in hospitality, tourism, or operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in remote or island-based environments preferred
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Physically fit, adaptable, and able to handle the challenges of field-based work
- Willing to relocate full-time to El Nido or Coron
