Job Description

Position Summary
As a Tax Manager, you will lead the tax function for a portfolio of clients. You'll provide both compliance and advisory services, manage relationships, and help clients navigate complex tax environments. You will also coach and develop a team of tax professionals, ensuring high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance: corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and other statutory filings.

  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, helping minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax structures.

  • Act as the primary liaison for tax audits and assessments; handle communications with tax authorities and support dispute resolution.

  • Prepare and review tax provisions, reconciliations, and journal entries related to tax.

  • Develop and present tax reports, memos, and recommendations to clients and senior management.

  • Monitor changes in local and international tax laws; assess their impact on clients and design mitigation or planning strategies.

  • Identify business development opportunities and contribute to proposals for new or existing client engagements.

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior and mid-level tax staff; provide technical training and performance feedback.

  • Lead client engagements, ensuring timely delivery, client satisfaction, and compliance with quality standards.

  • Drive process improvements in the tax function, leveraging technology and automation where possible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA license or equivalent professional tax certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in tax (Big 4 firm, tax consulting, or corporate tax). (This is based on a similar job in the PH.) Indeed

  • Strong technical knowledge in tax provision (current and deferred), tax compliance, and international tax.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.

  • Proven leadership and people management experience, including coaching and mentoring staff.

  • Strong project and time management skills; ability to handle multiple engagements and tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP/tax software is a plus.
