Job Summary:

The Software Developer serves as the Platform Owner for assigned enterprise or grid or customer services platforms, ensuring they deliver maximum value to the business.

The role manages RFPs and vendor bids, engages with business users to capture needs, and oversees solution delivery by outsourced development and analysis teams.

It requires development or configuration experience in at least one primary platform to enable effective technical oversight, solution validation, and vendor management.

General Responsibilities:
RFPs, Bids & Vendor Engagement
  • Lead RFI/RFP cycles: prepare scope, evaluation criteria, and assess vendor proposals
  • Participate in vendor demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and technical evaluations
  • Work with Procurement and Legal to finalize contracts, SLAs, and KPIs
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure deliverables meet quality and compliance standards
Product Ownership & Roadmap
  • Define and communicate the priorities and strategies for assigned enterprise platforms
  • Maintain and prioritize requirements based on business impact, urgency, and technical feasibility
  • Define requirements clearly for outsourced development teams
Business Engagement
  • Act as the main ICT contact for business users of assigned enterprise platforms, ensuring requirements are understood and translated into technical solutions
  • Gather feedback on delivered features and coordinate with vendors to address issues or enhancements
  • Provide business stakeholders with updates on platform improvements, timelines, and impacts
Delivery Oversight
  • Review technical and functional designs from outsourced development teams to ensure they meet requirements and follow platform best practices
  • Validate that solutions align with platform governance, security policies, and an out-of-the-box-first approach
  • Coordinate with the testing team for user acceptance testing and ensure readiness for release
Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure solutions comply with IT governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain platform documentation, decision logs, and release records
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience
  • 4–6 years in enterprise application delivery or platform management
  • Development/configuration experience in either of the platforms:
  • SAP: ABAP, Fiori/UI5, workflows
  • ServiceNow: Business Rules, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, Service Portal widgets
  • Microsoft 365/Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint customizations
  • Custom-built apps: Full-stack or backend/frontend development

  • Experience managing outsourced vendors and participating in RFP processes
  • Experience working directly with business users to define requirements and validate solutions
Technical Skills
  • Understanding of solution architecture, data flows, and integration points
  • Familiarity with integration technologies (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, OData, IntegrationHub)
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and enterprise governance standards
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Platform certifications (SAP, ServiceNow CSA/CAD, Microsoft Fundamentals/Associate)
  • Product Owner or Agile certifications (PSPO, CSPO, SAFe POPM)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation
Soft Skills
  • Strong business engagement and relationship management skills
  • Ability to interpret business needs into technical requirements
  • Analytical problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
