Lead Java Developer

Functions:

  1. Conducts high-level assessment of application system change requirements and provides technical inputs during the preparation of impact analysis and business case documents.
  2. Collaborates closely with Business Analysts to deliver design recommendations and effort estimates for inclusion in requirements documentation.
  3. Prepares comprehensive system design and program specifications in the form of Technical Design Documents (TDD).
  4. Develops high-quality code and programs based on approved technical specifications, ensuring alignment with functional requirements.
  5. Builds application prototypes as needed to validate design concepts and gather early feedback.
  6. Performs unit testing to validate code functionality and ensure programs operate as designed at the component level.
  7. Coordinates with vendors or independently investigates and resolves issues identified during System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  8. Maintains and supports production systems, implementing bug fixes, performance improvements, and application enhancements as necessary.
  9. Ensures all development activities adhere to the organization's Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and best practices.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned to support team and project goals.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Java Developer.
  3. Proven experience in leading or managing a Java development team.
  4. Core Java: Strong foundation in Java, with hands-on experience in Java 8 or higher
  5. Frameworks: Proficient in Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate
  6. Build & Version Control: Experience using Maven for build automation and Git for version control

  7. API Development & Integration:

  8. Skilled in building and consuming RESTful Microservices / REST APIs

  9. Proficient in API testing using tools like Postman, Curl, Swagger, or equivalent
  10. Capable of writing and maintaining API documentation using Javadocs, OpenAPI, Swagger, or similar tools

  11. Databases:

  12. Strong understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or equivalents

  13. Proficient in writing SQL queries, understanding table structures, and optimizing database interactions

  14. Software Development Methodologies:

  15. Knowledge and experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  16. Familiar with both Waterfall and Agile development approaches

  17. Testing & Debugging:

    • Ability to write meaningful unit tests using JUnit
    • Proficient in debugging Java applications and resolving issues efficiently

    • Documentation:

    • Skilled in writing and interpreting technical documentation for systems, APIs, and designs
