General Ledger Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reports
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and responding to queries
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial reporting and resolve accounting issues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP) and internal controls
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements in the GL function

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in General Ledger or corporate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (IFRS or GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
