
Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for management review.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
Develop annual budgets for property management operations, collaborating with department heads to gather input and insights.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations for corrective action.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable
Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.
Manage cash flow to optimize working capital and monitor collection efforts to maintain outstanding accounts.
4. General Ledger Management
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper accounting controls are in place.
Review journal entries and perform month-end closing procedures to ensure accuracy.
5. Compliance and Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting regulations, tax laws, and property management industry standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to minimize risk and safeguard company assets.
6. Operational Support
Collaborate with property managers and operations staff to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
Provide financial insights and support to operations teams for decision-making and strategy formulation.
7. Team Leadership and Development
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a team-oriented environment and promoting professional growth.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
8. Technology and System Management
Evaluate and implement accounting and property management software solutions, ensuring systems support operational needs.
Optimize financial processes through automation and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably in property management or real estate.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Personal Attributes:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with occasional site visits to properties as needed.
Standard office hours, with flexibility to accommodate fiscal year-end closing deadlines or special projects.
