Tasks and Responsibilities

 Tax Return Preparation and Review:

Prepare tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian tax laws.

 BAS Preparation and Review:

Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) from time to time. The accountant is expected to know the basics of the goods and services tax (GST) rules and is required to do GST reconciliations.

 Preparation of workpapers:

Our office is a paperless office so all of our workpapers are available as templates. The accountant is expected to generate the correct template and adequately complete the workpapers.

Figures and calculations in the workpapers should match up to any financials and Tax returns prepared

 Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian tax laws and regulations, including lodgment deadlines and reporting requirements. This includes a basic understanding of Fringe Benefits Tax and Division 7A (company debit loans).

 Tax Training and Research:

Attend formal tax training (remotely) once a month for 2 hours and undertake basic tax research on an adhoc and needs to basis to stay updated on changes in tax legislation.

 English Proficiency:

The accountant is expected to fully proficient in English and must be able to draft professional emails and correspondence (all emails and correspondences will be vetted before sent out but it will be efficient if any emails and correspondence require minimal changes).

 Use of technology:

As we are a paperless office, the accountant is expected to fairly comfortable with Office (excel, word etc), outlook, teams, Xero and SuiteFiles(client database). Our firm uses Xero ledger to prepare financials, Xero tax for tax returns and Xero workpapers for internal workpapers in addition to excel workpapers. Training is provided but it will be an added

bonus if the accountant has experience using Xero

 Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and organised client tax records and save these in our client database

 Collaboration:

Collaborate with other team members to provide tax solutions.

6am to 3pm Manila

Work Location

Hybrid, Either Eastwood, SM North, Alabang, Pampanga or Cebu Office

Willing to work onsite at least 2-3x per week
