We're hiring an AI Property Accounting Specialist to join an early-stage startup building AI-powered tools that help property management teams streamline financial processes. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in property accounting, especially for apartments, multifamily, or other large-scale property groups, and strong hands-on experience with property management accounting systems.

You'll work closely with our founders and operations team to review AI-generated financial outputs, ensure data accuracy, and optimize workflows. Your expertise in property accounting will help us refine our product and deliver exceptional results to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process financial data from property management systems and AI-powered tools.
  • Tag expenses with the correct General Ledger (GL) codes and reconcile accounts.
  • Help improve systems and workflows for managing financial records and documentation.
  • Work closely with the operations and product teams to review AI results and share feedback to help improve the system.
  • Act as a thought partner to help shape how the AI is fine-tuned and trained over time.
  • Continuously develop your skills and understanding of both the AI model and the product, contributing to its evolution as the company scales.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a property management company (multifamily, residential, or commercial real estate).
  • Hands-on experience with property management and accounting systems such as AppFolio, RealPage, Yardi, Entrata, MRI, Buildium, PropertyWare, ResMan, or RentManager.
  • Experience supporting US-based clients or companies, with knowledge of U.S. accounting practices.
  • 2+ years working from home with consistent productivity and communication.
  • Experience as a Team Lead or Subject Matter Expert is a plus.
  • Comfortable typing at a moderate to fast speed (ideally 50+ WPM), most communication is written and async.
  • Regular user of AI tools (ChatGPT, Notion AI, etc.) with curiosity about how they work and improve.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, when handling financial data, receipts, and documentation.
  • Naturally inquisitive and comfortable asking lots of questions to understand how things work.
  • Fast learner who takes feedback well and enjoys iterating toward improvement.
  • Strong written English, with the ability to work primarily through chat and asynchronous updates.
  • Confident using tools like Google Sheets and other SaaS platforms in a fast-paced, remote team.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments where priorities shift quickly, and you're trusted to take ownership of tasks
