CASHIER - KCC MALL ZAMBOANGA

cashier job involves processing customer payments, operating cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems, and providing excellent customer service in various settings like retail stores, restaurants, and grocery stores. Key responsibilities include accurately scanning items, handling cash, credit, and debit transactions, making correct change, issuing receipts, processing returns, and maintaining a clean checkout area. Cashiers also answer customer questions, bag purchases, and sometimes assist with other tasks such as stocking shelves. Core Responsibilities

  • Transaction Processing: Operating a cash register or POS system to scan items, calculate prices, and process various forms of payment (cash, credit cards, checks).
  • Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions, providing product information, and ensuring a positive shopping or dining experience.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately handling cash, making correct change, reconciling the cash drawer at the end of a shift, and preparing deposit reports.
  • Returns and Exchanges: Processing customer returns, exchanges, and issuing refunds or store credit according to company policy.
  • Point of Sale Management: Using POS systems to input item codes, apply discounts, and manage gift cards.

Additional Duties

  • Bagging and Packaging: Accurately and carefully bagging or wrapping customer purchases for safe transport.
  • Merchandise Assistance: Helping to stock shelves, rotate inventory, or locate items for customers.
  • Up-selling and Recommendations: Suggesting or cross-selling additional products to customers when appropriate.
  • Maintaining the Checkout Area: Keeping the checkout counter and surrounding areas clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with other staff members to meet store goals and ensure efficient operations.
