A Senior Video Editor must combine exceptional creative storytelling abilities with specialized expertise in motion graphics. They should craft compelling narratives strategically designed for platform-specific audiences while staying current with internet culture, trends, and memes. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in cutting-edge NLE software with particular expertise in TikTok's platform dynamics and editing style. They must excel at mentoring junior editors, implementing quality control standards, and producing visually stunning content where narrative excellence remains the priority in every project.

Responsibilities

  • Edit high-quality video content using industry-leading software including Adobe Creative Cloud Applications, DaVinci Resolve and CapCut
  • Create engaging stories that push boundaries across a variety of platforms, offering creative ideas and developing content strategically designed for platform-specific audiences
  • Ensure all video content meets the appropriate delivery specs for social media (especially TikTok), online platforms, and TV broadcast standards
  • Manage the editing workflow from footage ingestion, through revisions, to final delivery and archival
  • Stay updated with the latest video editing techniques to continuously improve skills with a keen interest in internet culture, pop culture, music, memes, and various video genres
  • Play a leadership role in the department, fostering creative success, mentoring junior editors, and ensuring in-house work meets the highest creative standards
  • Take initiative and show creative ambition to start self-owned projects when there is spare time
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness by pursuing opportunities beyond editing, showing ambition to learn and collaborate with others on creative projects

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative storytelling abilities
  • Specialized expertise in motion graphics as a technical skill to enhance narrative impact
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro and Capcut
  • Particular expertise in TikTok's platform dynamics and editing style
  • Experience with both offline and online video editing workflows
  • Excellent client communication skills with ability to present work, incorporate feedback effectively, and manage expectations
  • Strong internal communication abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, provide clear project updates, and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Familiar with Mac operating systems (Windows is a plus)
  • Fluent in English with fantastic verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel for work-related assignments
