Laboratory Technician

General Description:

Assist WSO Officer/Shift Chemist by performing analyses of process samples related to the automation project of the treatment plant.

Job Description:

1. Performs routine physical, chemical, biological, microbiological and specialized test on samples collected from assigned areas and other applicable points within Maynilad influence;
2. Participate in the commissioning and testing of online analyzers to support various projects;
3. Performs analyses in adherence to established operating procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency in results;
4. Relay test result promptly to ensure that water quality control parameters are met, producing finished water that meets or exceeds the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW);
5. Prepare, standardize, and maintain reagents/chemicals required analyses, ensuring readiness for laboratory operations;
6. Accepts and records chemical reagents and supplies, updating inventory records after withdrawal and consumption to endure adequate stock levels;
7. Conducts regular internal verification and calibration of instruments used to maintain accuracy and compliance with testing standards;
8. Ensure laboratory's method control charts are consistently updated;
9. Implements Integrated Management System program in alignment with company policies, focusing on continuous improvement and compliance; and
10. Does other related tasks as may be assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSES

Graduate of any 3-year applied science course in college with a minimum of 30-unit requirement in Chemistry and Chemistry-related subjects (e.g. chemical analysis, Food Chemistry and Analysis, etc.)

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferably with one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic reading, writing, and analytical required
• Can perform various mathematical functions
• Has the ability to perform assigned task with ease
• Basic computer skills (Office 365)
• Preferably with basic technical skills on troubleshooting of basic laboratory instrument
