Job Summary

The Cost Accounting Associate is responsible for assisting in the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of production, inventory, and operational costs. The role supports accurate cost allocation, variance analysis, and internal reporting to help management control expenses, improve profitability, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesCost Monitoring & Analysis

  • Assist in tracking and recording direct materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Maintain cost sheets, bills of materials (BOM), and standard costing records.
  • Analyze cost variances (actual vs. standard/budgeted costs) and prepare explanations.
  • Support monthly cost closing activities and reconciliations.

Inventory & Production Support

  • Monitor inventory movements and assist in inventory costing (FIFO, weighted average, or company-prescribed method).
  • Coordinate with operations, production, and warehouse teams for accurate cost data.
  • Assist in physical inventory counts and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation of wastage, spoilage, and shrinkage.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare regular cost reports for management review (daily, weekly, or monthly).
  • Assist in preparing financial schedules related to cost of sales and inventory.
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting documents.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required cost-related schedules.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Follow Philippine accounting standards and company procedures.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as may be assigned by management.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Management Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 1–2 years of accounting experience; cost accounting, inventory, or manufacturing/catering/retail experience is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates with strong analytical skills may be considered.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic analysis).
  • Experience with accounting systems/ERP is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Job Type: Temporary

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: Php20, Php22,000.00 per month
