HIRING: Head of Legal – Philippines (M3)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Legal (M3 level) to lead the Philippine legal function. This role will provide senior-level legal guidance, manage regulatory and compliance activities, mitigate organizational risk, and partner closely with leadership teams in the Philippines, India, and the United States.

This is a replacement position and requires strong experience in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law, ideally within BPO, Shared Services, or Banking industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the legal team for the Philippine site and provide legal support across business units.
  • Manage corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial legal matters.
  • Oversee compliance initiatives across the Philippines and India, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Mitigate organizational and operational risks through structured legal strategies.
  • Implement and monitor anti-corruption policies and ensure adherence to relevant laws.
  • Provide legal guidance to senior leadership, including the Country Head and US-based enterprise legal team.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts and regulatory documents.
  • Manage a high-performing team and oversee administrative and legal operational functions.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Law experience (or equivalent through work, training, or education).
  • 4+ years of management experience in a legal leadership role.
  • Active State Bar membership or equivalent certification outside the U.S.
  • Proven experience handling legal, compliance, commercial, and regulatory matters.

Desired Qualifications

  • Law degree (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.
  • Experience in corporate law involving BPO, Shared Services, or Banking sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in multi-country compliance (Philippines & India).
  • Strong experience in risk mitigation, anti-corruption policies, and regulatory oversight.
