WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR
Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse to ensure efficient receipt, storage, inventory management, and dispatch of goods. The role ensures that all warehouse activities are carried out accurately, safely, and in compliance with company policies and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
  • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing items are properly checked, recorded, and documented.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Coordinate with logistics, purchasing, and sales teams regarding stock availability and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of stocks and proper rotation (FIFO/LIFO as applicable).
  • Oversee the proper use of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).

2. Inventory Management

  • Conduct regular and spot inventory counts to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, damages, or excess items to management.
  • Implement effective inventory control systems and procedures.
  • Assist in periodic physical inventory audits and ensure proper documentation.

3. Team Supervision

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse personnel to ensure high performance.
  • Assign tasks and monitor employee productivity and work quality.
  • Enforce company rules, policies, and safety standards within the warehouse.
  • Motivate staff and encourage teamwork to achieve warehouse goals.

4. Safety and Maintenance

  • Ensure that warehouse operations comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the warehouse area.
  • Report and address any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or damages immediately.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance of warehouse tools and equipment.

5. Reporting and Coordination

  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly warehouse activity and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate with accounting, logistics, and procurement for proper documentation and reconciliation.
  • Support management in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in warehouse or logistics operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse procedures.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other inventory software.
  • Physically fit and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
