
Customer Service Team Leader

PRIMARY FUNCTION
We are seeking a dedicated and people-focused Customer Service Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of the Customer Service team. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance frontline support with team management, ensuring exceptional service delivery, consistent team performance, and ongoing staff engagement.
You will work closely with senior team members who act as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support a scalable and efficient customer service function as the team grows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the Customer Service team
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members to deliver high-quality service and meet performance goals
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to address performance and support development
- Actively assist with customer inquiries, spending approximately 60–70% of time on the phone or resolving frontline issues
- Coordinate scheduling, rostering, and ensure appropriate coverage during operational hours
- Track leave, attendance, and team engagement activities
- Collaborate with SMEs for knowledge-sharing and issue resolution
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and service quality
- Foster a positive team culture and promote open, effective communication
- Escalate and resolve complex or sensitive customer issues
- Report team performance metrics and provide updates to management
