Buyer

Reporting to the Accounting and Administration Supervisor, Buyer is accountable and responsible in performing entry-level purchasing functions and assisting other purchasing personnel in the efficient procurement of goods and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Procure the necessary requested materials and supplies with the best quality at the lowest possible cost.

2. Review requisitions and procure non-complex items.

3. Solicit written and telephone quotations.

4. Tabulate bids.

5. Expedite deliveries.

6. Look for new sources of supply.

7. Negotiate price and delivery with suppliers or contractors and decides on the best deal for the company.

8. Complete purchasing process and documentation

9. Monitor and expedite delivery of purchase orders and progress/completion of services.

10. Coordinate with Logistics/WH and Expediters to ensure goods are being delivered on time.

11. Review outstanding orders and action as required.

12. Develop new and maintain a set of reliable dependable business partners through proper vendor qualifying and regular vendor performance evaluation to have a more competitive source of goods & services to benefit the operation.

13. Maintain vendor relationships that are based solely on sound business and ethical practices. All negotiations are to be conducted in the best interest of Delta Earthmoving, Inc.

14. Ensure all reporting deadlines are met.

15. Ensure high housekeeping standard maintained.

16. Other duties may include monitoring equipment lease duration (if any) under outside rental based on equipment schedule to minimize project cost.

17. Comply and promote adherence to all Company policies and regulations specially Procurement and Safety Policies.

18. Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. College graduate.

2. Good clerical skills.

3. Preferably with experience but not required

4. Good oral and written communication skills

5. High level of interpersonal skills, moral stability and integrity.

6. With great sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure, proactive, resourceful and creative thinker

7. Completes tasks in a timely manner and able to meet tight deadlines / targets and deliver effective results

8. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

9. With pleasing personality and maintains a level of professionalism in dealing with colleagues/vendors.

10. Has the ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment

11. Follows organization and department procedures.
