equipment coordinator

Job Description:

The Equipment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, inventory, maintenance, and distribution of tools, machinery, and other equipment used by the organization. This role ensures that all equipment is properly maintained, tracked, and available for operational needs while complying with safety standards and budgetary guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment and tools.
• Coordinate the procurement, delivery, and storage of new equipment.
• Schedule and oversee regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Track equipment usage and manage check-in/check-out procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Prepare reports on equipment status, usage, and expenses.
• Support project teams with equipment planning and logistics.
• Manage disposal or recycling of outdated or broken equipment.
• Train staff on proper use and care of equipment.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field (preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in equipment management, logistics, or a related field.
• Experience in a construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an advantage.

Skills:

• Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
• Familiarity with maintenance scheduling and recordkeeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of workplace safety and handling of equipment.

Certifications (optional but preferred):

• Forklift Operation Certification
• OSHA or other safety-related certifications
• Equipment management software training (e.g., SAP, Asset Panda)
