Job Summary:

The Data Privacy Officer (DPO) is responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other applicable privacy frameworks. Acting as a subject matter expert, the DPO advises the company on best practices for protecting personal data, oversees data protection strategies, manages privacy risk assessments, and serves as the point of contact for data subjects and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's data privacy policies and procedures.

· Monitor compliance with privacy laws, regulations, and internal policies, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other relevant frameworks.

· Conduct regular privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).

· Advise and educate employees on data protection obligations and best practices.

· Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and data protection authorities (DPAs).

· Manage responses to data subject access requests (DSARs) and other rights under data protection laws.

· Coordinate incident response activities relating to data breaches, including reporting and remediation.

· Maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities conducted by the organization.

· Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.

· Collaborate with Legal, IT, Security, HR, and other departments to embed privacy requirements into new initiatives, projects, and business practices.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or equivalent are highly desirable.

· –8 years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or related roles.

· In-depth knowledge of global data privacy laws and regulations.

· Experience working with privacy and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).

· Strong understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity, and data management principles.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Ability to work independently, manage sensitive and confidential information, and make well-informed decisions under pressure.
