Job Description:

The Translator Specialist is responsible for converting written or spoken materials from one language to another while maintaining the original meaning, tone, and context. (Mandarin to English) The role ensures clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication between parties, supporting business operations, documentation, and client communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate written documents, emails, reports, and other materials accurately and fluently.
  • Provide real-time interpretation support during meetings, calls, or conferences if required.
  • Ensure translations reflect the original meaning, style, and tone of the source language.
  • Proofread and edit translated texts for grammar, clarity, and cultural relevance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to company standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet project deadlines and translation quality targets.
  • Keep updated with industry terminology and linguistic best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Language Studies, Communication, Linguistics, Translation, or any related field.
  • Proven experience as a translator or interpreter (preferably in a professional or corporate setting).
  • Excellent command of English and at least one other language (e.g., Mandarin)
  • Strong attention to detail, grammar, and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with translation software or tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple translation projects under tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to translate (written and speaking) between Mandarin and English with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
