Position Overview

We're seeking a Senior Analytics Consultant who turns complex medical claim data into clear, actionable insights. You'll use SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI (DAX, Power Query, visuals) to build reliable models and reports—then go beyond dashboards to interpret results, frame the story, and advise decision-makers. This role is hands-on today, with a near-term path to build and lead an analytics team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business leaders to scope questions, define metrics, and translate needs into analytical requirements.
• Design and maintain data models, queries, and ETL/Power Query steps to deliver trustworthy datasets.
• Build, publish, and govern Power BI reports and semantic models; optimize DAX for performance and usability.
• Perform exploratory analyses in SQL/Python (e.g., cohorting, drivers, segmentation, forecasting).
• Turn findings into clear narratives, visuals, and recommendations that influence decisions.
• Establish documentation, QA checks, and data quality guardrails.
• Create reusable analytics assets (measures, templates, views) to speed future work.
• Track and communicate KPIs, trends, and business drivers to stakeholders on a regular cadence.
• Mentor analysts and contribute to the hiring plan, standards, and workflows for a growing team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Ops, Finance, Product, Sales, RevOps, IT) to align data definitions and priorities.

Job Requirements:

Analytical & Statistical Skills

• Designed and executed A/B or multivariate tests (e.g., testing new patient intake workflows, provider outreach methods).
• Experience with hypothesis-driven analysis and experimental design.
• Applied statistical methods like regression, cohort analysis, survival analysis, or variance decomposition to uncover drivers of margin or patient outcomes.
• Proficiency in ad hoc analysis using SQL, Python (pandas, statsmodels), or R.

Business & Strategy Orientation

• Defined KPIs and success metrics for growth, operations, or revenue cycle performance.
• Translated ambiguous business problems into clear analytic questions and structured solutions.
• Ability to prioritize insights by ROI impact and present to leadership in a decision-ready format.

BI & Visualization Tools

• Strong with Power BI/Tableau/Looker, but emphasis is on storytelling, not just reporting.
• Portfolio examples: Executive dashboards with drill-throughs for operators, KPI scorecards for CFOs, workflow trackers for intake teams.

Soft Consulting Skills

• Led client workshops or stakeholder sessions to define analytic needs.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams (finance, operations, IT) to align analytics deliverables with strategic goals.
• Ability to bridge technical and business audiences — e.g., explain model assumptions to clinicians, then validate data lineage with engineers.
