Position Overview:

The Housekeeping Staff in the Diagnostics & Laboratories industry plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness throughout the laboratory facility. This position ensures that the environment meets high standards of cleanliness and sanitation to support the delivery of quality diagnostic services and ensure the safety and well-being of staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

A.   Cleaning and Sanitization:

1.    Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all areas of the laboratory facility.

2.    Disinfect high-touch surfaces, equipment, and common areas regularly to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic environment.

3.    Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas according to established protocols.

B.   Waste Management:

1.    Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and biomedical waste in designated containers following safety and environmental regulations.

C.   Stocking and Inventory:

1.    Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and report any shortages or maintenance issues to the supervisor.

D.   Room Setup and Organization:

1.    Assist with setting up meeting rooms, laboratories, and other areas for events, meetings, or activities as required.

2.    Ensure that furniture, equipment, and supplies are arranged neatly and in accordance with safety guidelines.

E.    Reporting and Communication:

1.    Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns to the supervisor or appropriate personnel promptly.

2.    Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.

F.    Compliance and Safety:

1.    Adhere to safety regulations and use personal protective equipment like gloves as required to minimize risks and ensure personal safety.

G.   Professionalism and Customer Service:

1.    Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with colleagues, clients, and visitors.

2.    Respond promptly to requests or concerns raised by staff or visitors and take appropriate action to address them.

Skills:

· Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

· Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.

· Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects.
