Human Resources Director

About the Role:
Your goal is to align human capital with multi-year project pipelines, ensuring the firm has the specialized leadership and skilled trades necessary to bid on and execute billion-dollar contracts safely and profitably.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic Workforce Planning: Develop 3–5 year labor forecasts aligned with the company's project backlog. Use People Analytics to identify gaps in "super-specialized" roles like BIM Managers, Pre-construction Directors, and Senior Superintendents.
- Organizational Development: Design and lead Succession Planning initiatives to address the "aging workforce" crisis, ensuring knowledge transfer from retiring veterans to the next generation of field leaders.
- Total Rewards Strategy: Architect competitive compensation structures that include performance-linked bonuses, profit-sharing, and per-diem policies that remain attractive in a high-inflation, high-demand market.
- Risk & Compliance Oversight: Serve as the final authority on complex labor relations, EEO compliance, and Certified Payroll audits for federally funded projects.
- Safety & Culture Leadership: Partner with the VP of Operations to embed a "Safety-First" culture that transcends compliance, reducing the EMR (Experience Modification Rate) to lower insurance premiums and increase bid competitiveness.
- HR Tech Transformation: Oversee the implementation and integration of construction-specific HRIS/ERP systems to eliminate manual paper-tracking and "siloed" field data.
- Experience: 12+ years of progressive HR leadership, with at least 5-7 years in a senior role within Construction or Engineering.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in HR or Business is required; an MBA or Master's in Human Resources is highly preferred given the strategic nature of the role.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in multi-state labor laws, Union vs. Open Shop dynamics, and the nuances of AIA (American Institute of Architects) contract labor requirements
