Lead Data Engineer - Modern Data Platform | TGTH

Client: Leading Australian Transport & Logistics Organization

Contract: Full-Time

About the Role:

Join TGTH and lead the migration and optimization of a cutting-edge data platform for one of Australia's largest Transport and Logistics companies. In this critical role, you'll guide the transition from legacy systems to advanced cloud technologies, enabling data-driven decision-making at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Migration: Oversee the migration of critical data workloads from SQL Server to Snowflake, refactoring legacy views and procedures into modern dbt models.
  • Optimize Snowflake Platform: Ensure cost-efficiency, performance, and reliability across Snowflake environments.
  • Design Advanced Data Products: Build scalable solutions, including real-time tracking, predictive analytics, and operational optimization.
  • Data Modeling & Architecture: Implement modern data models using medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers) for self-service data products.
  • Quality & Monitoring: Establish comprehensive data quality monitoring, automated testing frameworks, and real-time observability dashboards.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, partnering with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, impactful solutions.
  • Communication: Leverage your excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights.
