Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals following menu plans and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure patient meals are prepared and delivered according to prescribed diets
  • Operate the cashier system accurately for staff and visitor food purchases
  • Receive payments (cash, card, or charge), issue receipts, and balance cash drawers
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving, and cashier areas
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards at all times
  • Coordinate with dietitians, nurses, and kitchen staff regarding patient meal needs
  • Monitor food inventory and report shortages or discrepancies
  • Address customer inquiries in a polite and professional manner
  • Comply with hospital policies, confidentiality, and financial control procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food service and cashiering is an advantage
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
