Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of the Advanced Visual Guidance Docking System (AVGDS) at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The role involves supporting engineers and project managers to ensure that all electrical works related to the docking system are performed according to design specifications, safety standards, and airport operational requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical systems, conduits, wiring, and control panels for the AVGDS in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist in mounting sensors, display units, and lighting components on passenger boarding bridges or fixed structures.
  • Perform electrical terminations, cable routing, grounding, and panel wiring following local electrical codes and project standards.
  • Conduct insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and system functionality checks prior to system energization.
  • Support the integration of AVGDS equipment with airport power systems and communication interfaces.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and IT teams during equipment alignment, calibration, and system commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures within the airport's restricted areas.
  • Prepare daily work reports, document installation progress, and record test results.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and provide corrective actions.
  • Participate in system handover and assist during final testing and acceptance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation works, preferably in airport systems, industrial automation, or infrastructure projects.

  • Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.

  • Experience in low-voltage systems, control wiring, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with safety practices in high-security or airport environments.
  • Ability to use electrical testing instruments (multimeter, insulation tester, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, and communication interfaces is an advantage.
  • Certifications: Valid electrical license or TESDA NC II/III in Electrical Installation and Maintenance preferred.

  • Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in airside environments and follow airport access protocols.

  • Willing to work on shifts or extended hours depending on project schedule.
  • Physically fit and capable of working at heights or confined spaces when required.
