JOB SUMMARY:

The Application Administrator is responsible for assisting in the deployment, management, and support of enterprise applications running on both Windows and Linux environments. This role ensures application availability, monitors system performance, and provides troubleshooting support to maintain smooth operations. The Application Administrator works closely with senior administrators and team members, contributing to system reliability, security, and overall organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise applications across Windows and Linux servers.


• Monitor application performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal service delivery.


• Perform regular application updates, patches, and upgrades.


• Troubleshoot application and system issues, working closely with development and infrastructure teams.


• Manage application integrations with databases, APIs, and third-party systems.


• Maintain system logs, monitor alerts, and ensure quick resolution of incidents.


• Ensure compliance with IT security standards and perform vulnerability remediation.


• Create and maintain application documentation, configurations, and support procedures.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business applications and projects.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:


• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:


• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and application hosting.


• Experience with Linux systems administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).


• Exposure to application deployment and configuration tools.


• Basic understanding of databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL) for application integration.


• Basic experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Kaseya, Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or similar).


• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and troubleshooting.


• Knowledge and experience working with web servers (IIS, Apache, Nginx) and application middleware.

Soft Skills:


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.


• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.


• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.


• Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or on-call support if required.

Preferred Qualifications:


• 1–2 years of experience in application administration, deployment, or support within Windows and/or Linux environments.


• Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or similar). Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow established processes and procedures.


• Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills.
