Z Aviation Consulting
is seeking a
hands-on Operations Control Centre (OCC) Supervisor
to join our team on a
permanent, full-time basis
. This role is based in our
bespoke office at PITX
and works directly alongside live airline operations.

The OCC Supervisor will be
actively involved in day-to-day operational control
, providing real-time decision-making, disruption management, and escalation support. While not a rostered shift role, the position requires
flexibility and availability outside standard hours
during major disruptions or critical events.

About the Role

This is a
practical, operational role
for an experienced airline professional who enjoys being close to live operations.

You will:

  • Actively monitor and manage live flight operations
  • Make and support real-time operational decisions
  • Lead disruption recovery and IROPS management
  • Step in directly during complex or high-impact operational events

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor flight operations, aircraft status, crew legality, and turnarounds
  • Make time-critical operational decisions to protect safety and schedule integrity
  • Lead and execute IROPS recovery actions (delays, cancellations, diversions, aircraft swaps)
  • Work directly with Dispatch, Crew Control, Maintenance Control, Ground Operations, and Commercial teams
  • Provide real-time guidance and direction to OCC Controllers and Dispatchers
  • Act as escalation point during operational disruptions and irregular events
  • Ensure compliance with flight/duty limitations, MEL/CDL, ETOPS, and operational procedures
  • Participate directly in operational briefings, handovers, and post-event reviews
  • Support continuous improvement through SOP updates and operational feedback

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years airline operations experience
  • Strong hands-on background in OCC / IOCC / Dispatch / Crew Control / Maintenance Control
  • Candidates with strong airline operations experience outside a traditional OCC environment will also be considered
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure, real-time environments
  • Valid passport and ability to travel when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Flight Dispatcher (FAA / EASA equivalent)
  • Strong IROPS and disruption recovery experience
  • Experience with ACMI / wet lease or multi-fleet operations
  • Familiarity with OCC tools and flight tracking systems
  • Prior supervisory or lead controller experience

  • Hands-on involvement with live airline operations
  • Flexibility required for out-of-hours operational support
  • No routine overnight or rotating shift roster
