Software Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Developer with 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in the banking / financial services industry. The ideal candidate will work on development, enhancement and maintenance of banking applications using technologies like Java, JavaScript/Angular, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and vendor-core banking scripting (e.g., Finacle). You will join a collaborative team building robust, scalable, secure banking systems, integrating with business teams and vendors, and supporting production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements (in banking domain: retail banking, corporate banking, payments, lending, etc.) into technical specifications and design.
• Develop and maintain backend services and modules using Java (including frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, etc).
• Develop and maintain frontend components using JavaScript/Angular (or equivalent modern web frameworks).
• Write PL/SQL code (stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers) to support database operations, reporting and interfaces.
• Perform shell scripting (on Linux/Unix) for batch jobs, job scheduling, system automation, log / data management.
• Work on vendor core banking system customizations or scripting (for example in Finacle or similar) for banking product modules, parameterization, reports or interfaces.
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, UAT, defect resolution, production deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize application performance (database, application code, interface flows) in a mission-critical banking environment.
• Work collaboratively with business analysts, QA/test teams, infrastructure/operations teams, vendor teams and external consultants.
• Ensure adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, version control, code reviews, change management, release management, documentation, and banking regulatory / security standards.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours support (for batch jobs, production issues, change/deployment windows) as required by banking operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 - 6 years of professional experience in software development within the banking / financial services industry (or vendor servicing banks).
• Solid experience in Java development (object-oriented programming, collections, concurrency, frameworks).
• Experience in front-end development using JavaScript and Angular (or equivalent).
• Strong PL/SQL skills: writing/storing procedures, packages, functions, triggers; working with Oracle (or other relational) databases.
• Shell scripting experience (Unix/Linux) for automation, job scripts, batch processes.
• Experience with Finacle scripting or vendor core-banking system customization (preferred).
• Understanding of banking products and processes (retail deposits, loans, payments, trade finance, corporate banking) is a plus.
• Good grasp of SDLC, agile (Scrum/Kanban) or waterfall methodologies, version control (Git, SVN), CI/CD concepts.
• Willingness to work flexible hours (as needed for production support/deployments) and coordinate with offshore/onsite teams.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, messaging systems (example: Kafka, MQ) in banking context.
• Exposure to DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) or containerization.
• Experience in banking regulations / compliance (AML/KYC, payments regulations, audit trails).
• Familiarity with other banking technologies (Temenos, BaNCS, Intellect, etc).

Pay: Php70, Php90,000.00 per month
