As a Design Engineer, you will perform the following tasks:

Responsibilities:

Design

  • Perform solar site surveys and preliminary array designs, equipment selection, and single-line drawings with interconnection details.
  • Develop single-line electrical diagrams to aid initial engineering and project cost budgeting. Proficient at branch circuit and feeder design for both DC and AC utilization voltages
  • Evaluate various types and locations of solar arrays and energy storage sizing and applications.
  • Prepare layouts and system sizing and perform production estimates for Solar projects using software (Helioscope, HOMER, and PVSYST).
  • Develop and/or lead the preparation and presentation of project proposals
  • Develop detailed project design phase and baseline construction schedules

Project Management

  • Implements the Project Construction Execution Plan
  • Monitors and reports on construction productivity and schedule performance (including trends) to the Operations Manager
  • Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements.
  • Implements construction schedule and makes recovery plans as required.
  • Assists with client interface and relations.
  • Coordinates with the Operations Manager to review all procured materials for acceptance
  • Responsible for the completion of the construction punch list.
  • Has full knowledge of the safety program and acts as the Safety Representative on site in the absence of the regular Safety Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed engineer, preferably in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role in solar PV energy, renewable project development and transmission planning
  • Experience in international solar PV project developers and/or solar EPC service providers an advantage
  • Knowledge in solar PV energy industry software (i.e. PVSyst, PVPlanner, Solar PV Autocad), tools for statistical analysis of data (Access, SQL) and measurement techniques
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Project
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to think independently and recommend best practices
  • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skill
  • Preferably with driver's license
