The Welder / Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance works to ensure continuous operation of machines, equipment, and facility structures. This role supports preventive maintenance, repair, and installation activities in compliance with safety and quality standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication works as required for machine repairs and facility maintenance.
  • Assemble, install, and repair mechanical systems, piping, conveyors, and other production equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment and utilities.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machines or equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in the work area.
  • Record maintenance activities and ensure proper documentation.
  • Follow company safety procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize downtime.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Vocational or Technical Course Graduate in Mechanical Technology, Welding, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a welder or mechanical technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding, and fabrication techniques.
  • Skilled in mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, and alignment.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Physically fit and able to work in confined or elevated spaces when needed.
  • Strong sense of safety and attention to detail.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, or holidays if required.
